Sticky and Rotating Proxies

Here at ASocks, you can choose between sticky and rotating proxies.

If you use a sticky proxy, your requests will go through the same IP address throughout the internet session. That is, your IP address will remain the same and you will be connected through the same proxy.

Likewise, you can use rotating proxies. In this case, our script (IP rotator) will assign a new IP address from your proxy list for each new request. IP rotator will automatically shuffle the proxies so that you don’t have to do it manually. This way, your activities with proxies will be harder to detect for the target websites. Another important benefit of rotating proxies is that since the IP addresses originate from different geo locations, it it will give you a greater level of anonymity and security when browsing the web.

In ASocks we use rotating proxy, but we are often asked: what is the difference between sticky and rotating proxies.

In a sticky session, you will have the same IP address right throughout the session that you’re connected to the Internet. So each time you make a new request, your IP address will not change and will have the same proxy.

Unlike the sticky sessions, which assign one static IP for the entire session, the rotating proxies provide access to a whole pool of IP addresses. Therefore rotating proxies change at a random or fixed interval. Some of the significant benefits of rotating proxies are that since the IP addresses originate from different Geo locations that are not related to one another, it gives a greater level of anonymity and security when browsing the web.
